I admit, I don't watch much women's basketball, but seems absurdly low fouls, 2 on Iowa, ZERO in UConn for 18+ min, now finally one. Is that normal?
Good thing Clark is building a house with all her bricks in season's biggest game.

So not only is Iowa playing against 5 -5 stars they are having to overcome some questionable reffing at this point.
That charge was a terrible call. Bodies the offensive player and flops
I know we’re shootings a lot of outside shots, and they’re shootings outside shots and wide open layups. But, 2 fouls combined for both teams in 20 game minutes? What?
Iowa is just outmatched, and thats ok. What does Uconn have, like 3 of the past 4-5 years top recruits plus a stud transfer from Tennessee? Iowa looks gassed also, not rebounding very well and on defense just a step slow. Overall sweet 16 for this team is a good year. No shame is losing to Uconn.
I don't know that I would go after her like this. Literally all the defensive effort from a team of 5 stars is geared toward stopping her. SHe's getting no open shots, nor will she.

Correct. They are trying. There is a very wide gulf between the best teams in women's basketball and those in the 15-40 range, of which Iowa is a member. People can complain about Iowa not doing this or that, but when you are outclassed athletically it's really hard to be successful.

Also hard to rebound when taller player goes right over your back.
Yeah but one of the last baskets by UConn was by a player simply standing wide open right under the rim. God awful.

If women's basketball officiating didn't suck complete @ss it wouldn't be the case. But the more blue blood team gets the calls especially with limited fans. Iowa didn't get calls all year even in Carver
I’m sure there is a very good reason I’ve blocked the guy you are responding to. I knew people would come after Clark if she didn’t go for 30 in a game where she is playing against a team full of women at her caliber.

Iowa isn’t a good rebounding or defensive team this year. Keeping it within 20 at the end is a win for this team. Going in nobody thought Iowa could win and nobody figured the officiating would be any different than what it’s been throughout the year. UConn’s going to get the calls in their favor, that’s how women’s basketball has been for the past 20 years.
Pretty much had to expect this going in. UConn is a buzzsaw and the Hawks can't match their height and athleticism. Still a great season for the Hawks and they overachieved expectations.
Athletically outmatched right now, need the hawks to stay hot from 3 and hope Uconn decides to start chucking up shots from 3 and missing. Still within striking distance!
The game plan should be to work the perimeter. Gabbie has been hot just got keep moving the ball. We're not going to be able to feed the post with Uconn's size. Need to shoot threes and look for backdoor cuts. And we have to box out
Yeah the women are competing. They just aren't good enough. They could play better, sure. But good experience for them.

No. Because she was pretty much a Uconn lock. Iowa doesn't recruit players if there is little to no interest
