By virtue of their 3-0 win over StL tonight, the Cubs are the 2020 NL Central division winners.

Yay! I think. Cubs apparently were the least worst team in the division.
Not thrilled that both the postseason spot and division were clinched by other factors instead of winning that night's game, but no matter how it happened, it did indeed occur.
Who knows what happens if the Cardinals don't endure that 16-games-postponed due to Covid, then made up with lots of DHs..... but they did, and the Cubs survived.
Might as well get this started.

If you want the Cubs to face the Marlins in the WC round starting Wednesday - and I do - then its looking good (so far). Need the Turdbirds to beat MIL, and its 3-0 StL in bot. 3rd.

As the only team that did everything right, in terms of safety and awareness (of Covid), the Cubs deserve to start the WC round with a 1-0 series advantage - especially if their opponent is Miami, who was the first team to have a long layoff due to a viral outbreak within the organization.
Just sayin'.
The outcome of this game doesn't matter in any way shape or form, but christ would it have been nice to go in to Wednesday coming off a cruise-control W on the last day.

For a shi*** division, we somehow got 4 teams into the playoffs.
If Kasper was right, the NL playoffs line up like this (all games at higher seed, in WC round);
1 LAD vs 8 MIL
2 ATL vs 7 CIN
3 CHC vs 6 MIA
4 SD vs 5 StL
Although it won't happen, the potenial is there for an all-NL Central NLDS & NLCS, which would guarantee a NLC team in the World Series.

One of the best parts about today's game outcome? White Sox fell all the way to the 7th seed in the AL playoffs. Will have to play @ OAK.
