Same here. Engaging in good discourse can help open someone's eyes to a different perspective or provide more information about your own ideals, reinforcing your position. When done respectfully, it can be a great exercise. Since my ignore list was clear, I gave it a solid attempt with the LA fires. Unfortunately, it turned out to be an exercise in futility. Never again.
