In B5, I was asking myself whether Heller would contemplate Nedved in B9 if Iowa had a 4 run lead. Only 8 pitches yesterday. And it would potentially secure the series.

Hopefully, T6 obviated such an analysis from actually occurring.

Just stated on the radio broadcast: There is a time limit for this game because of Iowa having a plane to catch.

So, how does this work if the game is tied and it's, for example, an hour, a half hour, etc, before the game must stop?

Terrific game by your guys. The very first time this season RU has had something like this happen.

Rutgers missing some key players has certainly factored into the equation.

And, while you cannot take away the fact that Rutgers took care of business in its first 12 B1G games, its schedule to date hasn't been particularly strong. Leading into this weekend, it had faced 1 Q1 team. Granted, it beat Penn but one shouldn't overlook that it was a mid-week game. It isn't as if Rutgers beat Penn's #1, #2 or #3 starter. It had only faced one Q2 team (Coastal Carolina) and it lost a high scoring affair.

I'd venture to say that Iowa has been Rutgers' toughest full series opponent this year.

Fully expect Rutgers to bounce back against OSU. It then will get interesting with the final 6 games being against Michigan and Maryland. We should all have a pretty good idea of what Rutgers is bringing to the table after those 6 games.

Rutgers' offensive production in "Game 3s" during B1G play:

3/26 - PSU - 20 runs
4/2 - Minnesota - 9 runs
4/10 - Nebraska - 19 runs
4/17 - Indiana - 10 runs

Fingers crossed that we see Langenberg strong right out of the blocks.

(Good start for Iowa - jumps to a early 1-0 lead heading to B1)

Langenberg has been very wild so far. I hope he can settle down. Iowa down 2-1 with Rutgers in position to score more

Well . . . the hope for a strong start by Langenberg isn't playing out.

Hanging an 0-2 curve ball with runners on corners and needing a K proves costly.

Langenberg struggling to find the zone in the first. 2 wild pitches and passed ball so far. Hope we can score like yesterday because this one is looking like a shootout .

Rutgers' TV guys saying that a lefty is throwing in Iowa's pen.
EDIT: I'm anticipating a short leash for Ty today. If he doesn't start B2 strong, he'll be done for the day.

Which makes sense as Iowa hasn’t needed to use many bullpen arms in this series.

Sher has to have his head in the game. 2 outs. No reason for him to stop between 1st and 2nd base to see if the ball would be caught. Pretty sure that he wouldn't have been able to advance to 3rd base but you have to be a smarter ball player.

Really don't want this too far away early. After the HBP, I give Ty one more batter. If that batter reaches base, go to the 'pen.

EDIT . . . Heller won't even give him one more batter. Rough outing for the Urbandale Kid. $(%#!

Man, Langenberg just hit the guy in the head who’s been out with a concussion. I hope he’s ok.
