*****Official IOWA (#55 RPI) at Rutgers (#57 RPI) Games Thread (April 22, 23 & 24). All 3 Games on BTN Plus ($$)*****

Well . . . we need the strike throwing Duncan Davitt and not the "all over the place" Duncan Davitt. This is exactly what Rutgers thrives on; feasting on opponents' bullpens.

Langenberg hasn't looked sharp the last two weeks. Wonder if the grind of being a starter is wearing him down.

Key to getting back in this game?
Sit back and try to take the off speed/curve balls to right field. Wind blowing that direction. Should be able to hit the ball really hard to that side of the field. Find some gaps. Maybe take a ball or two out of the yard. Lots of innings to crawl back into the game.

Feels like Williams' AB this inning is a big one for Iowa to get back into this game.

EDIT: And now Anthony's AB steps into that position.

Dang. Anthony did a nice job of taking the outside fastball to RF. Hit it on the nose. Too bad that it was an "at 'em ball." Tough break.

As sharp as Iowa played in Games 1 and 2, they are playing the exact opposite of that today.

Kudos to Rutgers. Putting balls in play. Putting a lot of pressure on Iowa's pitching and defense. Iowa not responding well.

Looks like this will be another stellar offensive performance by Rutgers in a B1G "Game 3."

It's not Iowa's day. Need to regroup and win out in midweek games. Go 9-3 or better in conference play here out.

I thought we might be able to get back in this game but we can’t just gift them runs like that
Felt like Iowa had a chance to get back into the game in T5 and caught a tough break when Anthony's screaming line drive was hit right at the RFer. Then Rutgers put up 3 in B5. Dagger to the chest.

Another tough one . . . McCleary takes a backwards K with runners on the corners and 2 out in T7. It was a good pitch but must have a mindset to swing at anything close.

Looking at RPI ladder and other games.
Iowa (#55) is 1 point ahead of UTSA; 7 ahead of Rutgers and 9 ahead of Baylor.
Plenty of games where Iowa's opponents are not winning and Iowa will lose points.
Probably will end up #58 RPI at the end of the day.
