*****Official Iowa Vs Illinois Game Thread*****

Illinois should feel a little worried.

They got all the breaks, could do very little wrong in the zebra's eyes - even give a lot of gifts - and they're only up 8 at halftime???

Iowa comes out with anything to start the 2nd half, and Illinois is gonna be in for a real battle.

Well that was 2 free points at the end. Bad turnover but clean block by jbo in my opinion

I feel sorry for our players getting royally fvcked by the worst officials in the country.
hopefully in the real tournament they actually have competent refs. That being said, Illinois simply better in every way. Impressive the Hawks are even in this thing.

You swipe your arm you're going to get called for it every time in that scenario, right or wrong. Shouldn't have been in that position anyways, just a terrible decision by CJ. Worst case scenario there you go in down by 6, you absolutely cannot turn the ball over.

I'm really intrigued given how O played in a couple minutes. I'm guessing he'll get more minutes in the second half if the refs keep letting Cockburn bull around in the paint.

Oh yeah because this performance is all on the officials...

No, but the officiating has seriously benefitted Illinois. Iowa shot what, 2 free throws? Illinois's defense is so much easier when they can grab a dribblers arm, push a player down and, of course, foul several shooters without getting called. Had the fouls been called this would be more like a tied or 2 point game.
