cmac can't play in this game. jbo can't play in this game. cj is either hurt or scared. can't play in this game. the ball sticks way too much with certain guys. move the ball. move bodies and get garza the damn ball. if the first 5 minutes don't work with these guys get the subs in who can actually compete

Lol, they did that in man, too. We got a lead with that zone defense. Steals and better help defense. But it’s probably more about personnel right now than scheme.
Wow even Andy Katz recognized that Iowa was a lot better with joe t in the game. Too bad Fran didn't.
When we fell out of the b10 season race the fall back was "people only care about march", when we fell out of the b10 tourny the fall back was "people only care about the NCAA's". Now what is the excuse going to be when the best lineup we have had in my lifetime under performs again?
Luka can only do so much. The rest of the team sucks outside of Wieskamp and some decent bench players
It would be interesting to know how many of Oregon's 56 pts were scored when Iowa was in a zone defense scheme rather than man to man?
He isn't having a very good game thus far. Joe T and Pmac have been spectacular
They only looked rattled at the end of half when guys who should have been on the bench were put into the game with around 4 minutes on the floor. The guys on the bench the last four minutes of half were playing damned well when they were in their. Fran has got to commit to length and athleticism which means a lot of Joe W, Joe T, Perkins, Keegan, and Patrick along with Garza. I'm not saying never play CJ or JBo -- Perkins and Joe T may need a breather for a couple minutes Midway through the half.
And, yeah, I know Fran is going to go down with JBo, CJ, and Connor playing way too many minutes and play Joe T and Perkins too little, too late.

Lol. Even Katz and Barkley are talking about Iowa needing to play their quicker guards this second half. If Fran has the same starting five come out, Oregon's likely to go on another run and put the game out of reach.

All on Fran. And he doesn’t change back after a few minutes. Stays in zone too long. Fredrick and jbo can’t guard anyone can’t have them out there at same time then you throw in Connor who contributes nothing on either end recipe for disaster.
This narrative has been going on for months. At some point you are what you are. It’s been an entire season.
I don't know, but I'd guess that JBo and CJ were about -15 in the first half.
I would switch out JBo for CJ. CJ can at least halfway defend compared to JBo.

I actually like the fact we’re coming out down 10 than going in up 10 because this team doesn’t do well with big leads going in to the half. Time to do to the Ducks what our opponents do to us and go on a quick 12-0 run in the first 3 minutes of the second half!
Fair. JBo has the ability to get hot. Maybe give him 5 minutes and switch in CJF I'd he doesn't get anything going and is still awful on defense.

You are partly right. The zone was a good change up. It caught Oregon off guard. Once they started running the zone beater, it was bucket, bucket, bucket, bucket, bucket. Fran must not have been watching as he never adjusted.
