We all know the officiating in college basketball, men and women, generally stinks. Games are, in fact, too often decided by capricious, inconsistent, if not biased officiating. The evidence is clear and undeniable. So to address the issue, take 2 timeouts away and give coaches 2 challenges per half instead. There are too many timeouts as it is. Coach 'em up at practice. Let 'em play when the game begins. And when the officials make some idiotic call, instead of going crazy on the sideline to no effect--except maybe getting a T--challenge it. They do it in the NFL. They do it in MLB. They do it in the WNBA. They do it in the NBA. It's way past time to do it in college basketball. The ability to challenge an egregious call would return SOME semblance of fairness to a game that's been outta hand for a while.
BTW: And one other rule change that is needed ASAP is to limit timeouts to DEAD BALL situations only. This crap of calling timeout in the middle of a play has to stop. There's nothing else like it in any other sport. Internnational rules already ban live ball timeouts. But college rules still allow them. When a player is trapped in the corner, the coach calls timeout. What?! Stop it. Stop it now.
