I realize absolutely nothing is going to change, but this "life on the road" crap needs to end. The inconsistencies in how games are called, touch fouls on one team while not on the other is absolute horse crap. Fran was/is right to call out the officiating. I wish more schools and coaches would do it. It is a serious problem in this conference and has been for years.

What is the point of playing some of these games if breathing on a guy is called on you while the other team can be much more physical.

I agree but Iowa is soft.

Fran is a head case and Iowa collapsing late is as predictable as death and taxes.

Save yourself the frustration and do what I did: quit watching.

Unfortunately for me I took time off from work for th first and second round of the NCAA Tournament. Hopefully we play on Thursday so my Friday, Saturday, Sunday are free.

What impact has officiating had on this game??

Iowa is soft and shoots fade away 2 pointers

I don’t think it’s the fouls called on Iowa have been bad, but there’s been a few that shoulda been called on Wisconsin. That’s what’s frustrating

Give It a rest. Iowa sucks because Iowa sucks and is soft. The refs aren’t losing games, they just happen to also be terrible at their job. Good teams win without em.

Its not "life on the road"? Did we get an officiating advantage against Bucky in IC? No, Larry Scriotto hit Iowa with two or three calls every time we started to pull ahead. Did we get an officiating advantage in Iowa City against MSU? How about the cartoonish officiating in the IC game with Indiana? Nope.

The Big Ten is corrupt as hell and no one will do anything about it. The McCaffery suspension is proof that the conference will crush anyone in a position to say anything about the "crooked mother****er(s)."

Its starting to regress to the days before they faced the spectre of official (e.g. law enforcement) investigations into game fixing in the early to mid 90s. If Iowa had legalized sports gambling I'm thinking maybe someone betting on the games would have standing to go after them for game fixing under a RICO theory (because it is racketeering).

The Big Ten needs its media cache programs in the NCAA and we are not, and never will be, on that list. Every official in the conference knows that fact. No one needs to tell them and there are enough "crooked mother****er(s)" to get the job done without anyone ever having to tell them what to do-they know it.

Iowa is standing around not moving and dribbling. Then they shoot off balance long 2's

The complaints about the refs are getting old

Getting cheated 7 or 8 times a season regardless of the coaching or player quality over a 40 year period is getting rather, indeed, much older.

Perhaps all true. But again, Iowa's soft, pathetic excuse for basketball is more of the problem than the officiating.

Sorry but Iowa gets the same treatment at home.

Iowa is just soft and they have zero athletic talent. Pretty sad when Wiskys guards are driving right past our guys.

laughable that anyone thinks the refs are bad in this game
Iowa is lazy and standing watching one guy rebound over 3 other players

When are the First Four games? Tuesday and Wednesday? Because that is when they will be playing.

That makes no sense. The foul count was 13-5, for example. What do you think these officials would do if Iowa played harder and with more aggression? Jesus Christ, Cook was called for a foul for standing with his arms up a few minutes ago while Happe lives on our backs.

Iowa's late season collapses, hardly unique to this coaching administration, is undoubtedly fueled in part by the loss of morale when the players realize there are some games where the outcome is predetermined regardless of how well they play.

Another make believe foul on Cook just as I post these thoughts. I rest my case.

This is where I’m at. Not even watching. I’m taking the same approach as the team-packing it in. This team has mentally checked out! Sad to witness actually from where we were a couple weeks ago.

At this point I think our recourse should be to simply walk off the court based on player safety. The Big Ten cannot do anything more to the basketball team then they have been doing for decades. The issue has to be forced.

Wisconsin's ball.

My personal favorite was Happ passing it to himself. Does he get an assist for that?

Big ten officiating is horrendous. The big ten makes enough that they need to hire full time refs.

Exactly...hard for players to play inspired when they know the outcome is generally pre-determined by officials that call a foul on defense when you breath on someone, whereas on offense Hawks didn't get similar calls vs the defense.
