Ohio State is 13-1 vs Michigan over last 14 years

2012 is the only outlier.
Hard to believe

thanks for that; i was thinking it had to be a type or something on the TV screen! =)

I have a Michigan friend and he hates Ohio (as he calls them) so much; sometimes I think he kids about what he would like to do to the whole city of Columbus, but then again....

Gotta think that if Harbaugh loses to both MSU and tOSU next year... he might get the boot.

Yep, gotta belief that another year of slipping to third or fourth in their division, and losing to OSU, and maybe even little brother,(nice job Hart), has to put old khaki pants on the serious hot seat. Heck they could bring back Hoke or Rich Rod for half what their paying Jimbo.

Normally a coach is given 4-5 years to get things turned around.

But lets face it; Michigan trails Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State and Wisconsin in the B1G.

Being 5th best in the B1G won't cut it in a year or two.

Jim Harbaugh is not going to upstage the Urban
Renewal Project in Columbus, Ohio. He will not
be winning the Big Ten Championship any time
soon. It really depends on how much the Michigan
AD and fans will put up with, then Harbaugh's seat
might become hot..

so will Jim be around after year 5 if he has not won a B1G Championship?

Michigan has had a lot in common with Wisconsin over the last 15 years. I think the rise of MSU is the chief cause of that, although some bad coaching hires and a general change in the recruiting landscape have contributed as well.

Michigan was 1 of only 2 teams who didn't beat a team this year that finished with a winning record. Missouri was the other.

Edit to add...the only power 5 teams that didn't beat a team with a winning record.
No it can't be, the maize and blue........

Ok you lost me here. What has Michigan had in common with Wisky? The Badgers have clawed their way to a regular contender in the BIG, and top 10 to 15 team, while Michigan has done nothing significant in the conference or on the national scene since Carr left. Please explain........

I'm not married to the comparison. You have a better example?

No, I was just answering your statement that they had a lot in common with Wisconsin the last 15 years. Their trajectories have gone in completely different directions, so wasn't sure how to take that. While Wisconsin has climbed out from the abyss and become at least a second tier player, Michigan has done little of consequence in that time period. They get ranked every year because of their cache, but never quite seem to live up to the hype.

That's kind of what I meant. Perception wise they are "second tier players", although they probably shouldn't be. Especially since I believe Wisconsin has some wins over Ohio State in the CCG, if I remember correctly.

I think the fall of Michigan is the chief cause of the rise of MSU

Would never happen but how would you feel if Harbaugh switched divisions and was the coach of Iowa?

Would you like his flashiness and his kind over-the-top displays? Or would Iowa be better suited for a coach that can recruit but is low key and quiet like a Ferentz?

To add: Michigan has not won a BIG title since 2004. Every team has a "stinker" game every so often - it happens, but their record over the last 15 years or so speaks for itself. Their only existing claim to fame is their overall series records against other schools - massively built up during the horse and buggy/leather helmet years. They're one of two fan bases that love to (along with ND) live in the past.

Harbaugh will be on the hot seat if he doesn't improve dramatically next year. Michigan needs to compete yearly in the East as Iowa needs to compete yearly in the West. There is your comparison. Close but not quite at the top.

Habaugh 1st year recruiting, he was so desperate that he had to take 1 recruit away from KF----Higdon and he even took a 2nd string QB from Iowa. I think Harbaugh will probably get it done at Michigan because he recruits well.
