Hawks in on a lot of good looking linemen on the 26 class. 4 star OT, Nielsen is a great start and looks like 4 star OG, Parliamant is visiting again this weekend. Get him and the OL in 2026 could be a really good one before they are finished.

I think Barnett is a solid recruiter.

Going to need a great class in ‘26 with only getting one commitment in the ‘25 class.

Lol. No. Schools arent taking 5 schollie ol per yr. Maybe occasionally after a down trend you load up, but five ol per yr with most guys sticking around 5 yrs would mean 25 schollies tied up in the ol.
Yeah. It looks like they've been taking 3-4 per year other than last year.

I am going out on a limb and say the attrition rate, especially for OL is higher than 0%.

Dont know if its higher or not, not sure why it would be. Either way, schools arent averaging 5 ol recruits every year and arent carrying more than ~15-17 on scholarship most yrs

3-4 would probably be correct. If you watch the portal, almost every school is getting at least 1 OL out of the portal. Mainly to fill gaps with classes that did not pan out and needs. Especially for depth. Just my thoughts.

Doesn’t change the fact that signing 5 OL recruits per year is absurd.
On a consistent basis and with the portal yes. My point was that there is very little chance that if you sign 5 a year that in 5 years you will have 25 OL on scholarship. Feel free to go back the past 5 years and see how many recruits medically retire, transfer, quit, etc.
The ‘gee I don’t know if attrition is above zero’ answer was laughable. That is one person out of 25 not finishing 5 years at Iowa.
It has been beaten to death on this board on why the OL struggled the previous 3 years
‘Playing kids to early due to injuries, transfers, quitting, etc’
Signing 5 in a class as a regular course of business doesn’t make sense but to absolutely reject it as ludicrous is well ludicrous.

Did someone call for "Ludicrous"...... :D

Is it? OL make up 5 out of 22 starting positions. We now have a roster limit of 105 players. Percentage wise, that means 4-5 ships a year for OL. You could include kickers/punters, but I don’t think we typically recruit both a kicker and punter each year.

Maybe we get another year from DeJong?
