That's from my Mom's era. Even my grandmothers.
Me: You want coffee? It's in the kitchen...are your legs on backwards?
Ahh, the good ol days. When a woman knew her place. In the kitchen.
Makes it easier to plant right up your behind? LOLBut your feet are smaller.

What really changed American culture
was the number of women on our
college campuses beginning in the 1960's.
Women were getting a college diploma
and finding a career. Today, there are
more women attending college than men.
Today, we have women doctors, lawyers,
engineers, professors, and other white
collar occupations.
Soybean = MOTYWhat really changed the culture in the 1960's was The Pill. By the time I got to iowa City in 68 it was like the wild wild west. They wern't on campus looking for husbands.
In 1968, Pope Paul VI issued a papal
encylical which condemned all forms
of birth control. He stated that birth
control went against God's natural law.
Of course the average Roman Catholic
member thought the Pope had no duty
to interfere with their bedroom activities.
In one survey in the 1970's over 70%
of Roman Catholic members believed in
using The Pill for birth control.
CSOBWhen I was in High School is was a status symbol of sorts if you carried a Trojan in your wallet. When I got to Iowa City it was the girls that carried those little round disks of pills around in their purses with them...and they made sure you knew they had them too.
We do? Er, did??Catholic girls have a lot of tricks for birth control.
We do? Er, did??
Almost every one of mine involved the word no.
