Oliver Martin Updates: Dec 27: Will not play (Shoulder injury). Is 5th on Depth Chart.

How so? He still has 3 years left in his college career. Will he be a star? Maybe not, but it’s also to early to call him a failure.
*2 years

3 years removed from HS, he has a total of 16 catches for 153 yards and 2 TD, one of which came in garbage time against Rutgers, and another against a MAC team.

For a recruit of Martin's caliber (a 0.9251 4-Star, #7 WR and #47 player nationally), it's pretty reasonable to consider his career to this point as a disappointment.

You are probably correct on two years, I was hedging he would find a way to be eligible this year as well.

Martin was scrimmaging as a Michigan starter, transferred down to Iowa where he couldn't crack the top 4 and again transferring down to Nebraska. That is the quintessential "problem is the player" kind of career. Not really a bad guy but easily discontented. Everyone knows the guy that's always changing jobs.

Exactly. At some point you have to look at the one factor all of those things have in common.

Nebraska played two unranked walk-on players at WR against Ohio State - Wyatt Liewer and Levi Falck (a transfer from South Dakota).

Of course he looks good, he's playing against Nebraska's defense.

OM finished with 5 catches for 47 yards in Nebraska's Spring scrimmage.

I would bet if he stays healthy he will have a decent year. Nothing spectacular but pretty solid and good for him if he does.
