Hawkeye field hockey picked up their best win of the season on Sunday, a 3-0 win over #3 Ohio State. After a scoreless first half, the Hawks broke the game open with a pair of goals in the third quarter and a late insurance goal in the fourth. Sunday's match looked like the Hawkeye team we've seen so much of over the past few seasons, and while postseason opportunities will likely depend on a deep conference tournament run, last week's game is an encouraging sign of what this team can look like at their best. They likely need a win in their season finale next week to guarantee a spot in the Big Ten Tournament, but they've opened a path to the NCAA tournament for themselves and hopefully can take full advantage.
