Iowa softball was selected to compete in the inaugural National Invitational Softball Championship last week and made the most of that opportunity, going 4-0 and winning the tournament. The highlight of the tournament came in the championship game for the Hawks. Down to their final strike, the Hawkeyes rallied from a three-run deficit to storm back and earn the win and the championship. Denali Loecker was a key contributor at the plate and on the mound throughout the tournament and Grace Banes powered the Iowa offense in the championship game with a pair of home runs.

On the baseball field, the Hawkeyes won their season finale series against Northwestern, solidifying their spot as the #3 seed heading into this week's Big Ten Tournament. Brody Brecht pitched a gem on Sunday in the season finale and earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors for his efforts. At the plate, Raider Tello and Brayden Frazier put together big weekends to close out the regular season. The Hawkeyes will play in the first game of the Big Ten Tournament on Tuesday at 10 AM CT against Michigan.
