They’re sniffing around. I believe he’s transferring to a prep school for next year.Is there a story behind the relatively low offer list?
Rivals has him as a Top10 prospect but only shows 6 scholarship offers (including Western Kentucky). Its still early I guess but none of the traditional BB powers appear interested so far.
Really good question. He’s certainly jumped around a bit for schools, but that’s kind of a normal thing anymore for top 10 type players. He’s playing for MoKan now which is arguably a top 10 AAU team and is dominating. Athleticism off the charts and an unreal defender and athlete. Clearly still work to do on his offensive game but the athleticism is unreal. Is there a story behind the relatively low offer list?

Don't know if we have any chance at all with this kid but I hope we are rolling out the red carpet today. Any confirmations he is indeed on campus?
I got $10, how much can you throw in?The thought of him coming to Iowa, absolutely blowing up for a year, then being a lottery pick is the stuff of dreams. Bring it on big guy.

He commits there and it will say Omaha, Nebraska.
I was referring to being Iowa's bagmen. If you are gonna place bets, bet that he heads directly to the NBA
From the Nebraska Rivals article:

Not sure how much weight his Iowa State career carries any more. I imagine Omaha will be paying attention to your 5* recruit ya just landed. Has to help. From the Nebraska Rivals article:
"That's the first thing that I noticed," Biliew said. "His record holds a lot of weight, and it shows that he's been there at the highest level. He knows all about that, and he's a person you can go to and help get me where I want to be"
Hoiberg is 14-45 at Nebraska. I suppose his NBA experience could be attractive but his record is abysmal since he left ISU. Canned by Chicago after going 115-155. That is a combined 129-200 in his last two coaching positions. He will need two decades to get to .500 if he stays at Nebraska.
How old would he have been when Fred last coached at ISU? 10?Not sure how much weight his Iowa State career carries any more. I imagine Omaha will be paying attention to your 5* recruit ya just landed. Has to help.
Peter Jok worked out pretty well for us, but that was an odd situation. Ricky Davis did the one and done at Iowa, I suppose lightening could strike twice. Would be fun, although I suspect it wouldn’t have as huge of an effect on the program as we’d like to think. Maybe the new NIL money makes it possible? Why are we teased like this every few years? Kind of getting used to the let down.

He can't go direct to the NBA. He's not eligible for the draft until 2024.
in May, 2023 he will graduate from high school, correct?
If so, as I stated above, Adam Silver has confirmed that the NBA has presented a proposal to the National Basketball Players Association that would allow high school players into the 2022 Draft. And that would therefore make him eligible for the 2023 NBA Draft.
I bet they don't approve it, not that they shouldn't.

I think the NBA is better prepared for kids out of HS than they were before because they have the GL to help develop players. Even if they don't approve this measure I can see them working to expand how many HS guys they get to come play in the GL. I think there was 4 or 5 this past year and a few more in the coming year. You would think NBA owners & GMs would prefer the current 1 and done system, because that gives them another year to evaluate these 18 and 19 year olds
But on the other hand, players like Zion Willamson were ready to go to the NBA out of high school
It will be interesting to see what is decided
Here Omaha, take my money so Iowa can win a national championship......I got $10, how much can you throw in?

Nice writeup about the Bowen visit. Will we get any news regarding the Omaha visit as well?
Why wouldn’t Gonzaga be in the mix? At this point they’re a legitimate top 5 program. The visit went well, as you can see here. Sorry for the gross pictures.
Also, @David1979 , check out his upcoming visits.
And holy crap, Gonzaga now seems to always be in the mix for these highly ranked, 5 star kids.

Private schools have an advantage over public schools in many ways in what they can offer. They are more expensive for a reason.I am jealous!
In 2000, they were still considered a Cinderella story when they knocked top teams off in the NCAA Tournament.
Mark Few has done an incredible job.
Please explain in terms of a bball scholarship, especially in the case of a potential 1 and done.Private schools have an advantage over public schools in many ways in what they can offer. They are more expensive for a reason.
Higher tuition paid for, no state oversight, usually more special dorms, etc. Look at the smaller private schools that have had success. They can offer a much more exclusive experience. Please explain in terms of a bball scholarship, especially in the case of a potential 1 and done.
I hate the term "handler" when it comes to HS kids. And his handler has stated that the G League was definitely something they were looking at.
