One big thing going unmentioned - no review or challenge on AJs sack/deflection

And of course we all know what wouldn’t have happened had this been called correctly

Really looked like a fumble to me - just another huge and bullshit lucky break Wisconsin caught in this game.

I was saying this as soon as I Saw it. I think it may have been a fumble. There were a couple suspicious non reviews tonight.

Yeah the one replay I saw of it something looked funky like either AJ or Hornibrook pushed a fumbled ball forward. If so that's on the coaches just as much as the refs.

We were yelling at the TV for a TO and review. The announcers didn’t even pick up on it after the replay. Either that or they just didn’t want to make a thing of it. Klatt is usually pretty sharp about that stuff.

I like video review in general, but situations like this drive me nuts. Too often, plays that would almost certainly result in an overturned call don’t even get reviewed. That play, where it wasn’t at all clear that it wasn’t a fumble, absolutely deserved a review.

I’m sure the video review refs are coached not to stop action excessively, but my goodness — in a case like that, you have to take a closer look. Video review was MADE for plays like that.

There are very few challenges by anyone in CFB. because supposedly EVERY PLAY IS REVIEWED and determined whether to stop play and fully review. Ferentz used to challenge a fair bit when replay was newer, and we never won a challenge that I can remember. Generally challenging in CFB is wasting a TO

So, am I the only one that thinks his arm is moving forward with the ball?

Should have been reviewed but I don't think it would have been overturned.

Also gave them bullshit 1st down on opening drive and at least replay 4th and short QB sneak. This game a NIU game had some of the worst spots ever! Not sure if one sided or not bc I only notice when we get dicked

Agreed. Watching it live and the several replays live, I didn’t see anything that made me thought a challenge was needed. Looked like ball was in his hand as he started moving his arm forward and A.J. hit him early in this already started throwing motion.

Gave whiskey that fourth and one too, I thought replay showed him down at least a foot short.
They spots as many have posted were horrible.

Sure would be nice if Iowa would actually start using some of their challenges this season
We need a signal from the sideline on this type of play for a player to go down with an injury. This will stop the next play, give our press box coaches time to review the call and then throw the red flag...Or use a God D time out???
I'll volunteer for the press box job...And I won't even charge..
