And will be now playing games with decals on their helmets paying tribute to those lost in the Umpqua Community College tragedy much like Ferentz paid tribute to Tyler Sash a couple of weeks ago with the #9 helmets then.

Can't help think that perhaps Oregon schools might not have been inspired to do what Ferentz did that week.

A ribbon on the back of the helmet for a game/season is a bit different then a number on the whole side of the helmet. This is actually pretty common.

Yes. I'm pretty sure Iowa was the first school to ever pay tribute to a tragic event with a helmet decal. Ferentz pretty much invented the practice.
