What is up with reporting nowadays? This is an article quoting a tweet where a guy says "Adam said on his podcast" that some weird claim is out there.

WhyTF doesn't the article contain an actual quote from the podcast?

The Big Ten needs Nebbie relevant. Kind of like Miami and college football. I just wonder if Frost would want to come back? There are a lot of good jobs open right now. Who is gonna pay him the most $$.

Iowa's offense is an absolute dumpster fire. I have ZERO confidence in them on the road. As of now I'd say Nebraska wins 13-10 until the offense shows me something.

Nebraska switched to a 3-4 because they didn't have a pass rusher or two that you need on a 4-3. On the flip side, they don't have a dominant nose that you need yet for a 3-4.
 
It would be better for the B1G if Nebraska could become relevant again. It would be good for our series with them and the Nebby fan base has now had a major dose of reality so if they have success in the future they might appreciate it more and not be so smug.

What I think is scary for them is even if they get Frost... what if it does not work? There are no guarantees and coaching at UCF with FLA talent scraps lying around everywhere is no huge proving ground to me. It's a weak conference too where Rutgers had a number of good records only to get blasted in the B1G.

Whoever the coach is he will really need to work his tail off to forge a real identity other than past history, understand the B1G and recruit to such. There are so many dollars floating around the power 5 these days everyone has new shinny toys and can pay big money to coaches. You have to fight hard for players who have oodles of quality program choices. The state of Nebraska does not provide many B1G players.

But are you trying to compare braska's defense to that of MSU/WI?

For Iowa’s sake, I hope they keep Riley through Black Friday. That team is clearly demoralized right now and I think they just want the season over with. But if they reveal Frost as the new coach I could see that providing a spark that revitalizes them and makes them feel like they have something to play for in their last game of the season. I doubt Frost would want to do that to his current team by making an announcement before the season is over. But if there are enough leaks they may have no choice.

Anybody know if Frost has a buy-out to UCF if he changes jobs?

Just trying to add up how much it is going to cost Nebraska to pay three former coaches plus a buy out for new coach plus the new coaches salary. Ouch.
 
Tennessee got a head start on the new coach carousel. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Riley has seen the inside of Husker Stadium for the last time.

I highly doubt Billy C is still getting paid but nothing surprises me anymore.
 
Nebbys recent track record hiring their first choice hasn't been real good. IIRC they usually end up with # 3 or 4. That being said, Frost will get tremendous pressure to come to Lincoln and will be ordained the savior upon arrival. I hope he takes the job. One of two things will happen:

1) Frost will succeed and Nebby will become relevant again, therefore more fun to beat and cheer against.
2) Frost will fail and Nebby will become an even bigger trailer fire and may never recover in our lifetimes.

Nothing is as fake as CNN. Whether you like MSNBC, Fox, Horoscopes or a Magic Eight Ball, you wont find anything as mocked up. Hell, a compulsive liar is more apt to tell ya the truth.

As far as their sell out streak, under Dave Brandon we reached some real lows at Michigan. Unlike this state, there really isn't anything to enjoy sports wise out in Neb. They just need to win.

This. There are people literally depressed about where we are as a program right now.
 
It’s not a good year to be doing a coaching search. Florida, Tennessee, assuming Arkansas, assuming Nebraska, A&M maybe. Unless you have your guy, which some may already, who knows, there’s a lot of competition out there this year.

Yep. There are going to be a lot of openings, most of them in the SEC which is hyper competitive and will definitely compete for and be willing to pay for the top coaches. Nebraska may have already locked up Frost though. Everything I am hearing (though that means nothing, just friends in Omaha talking) is that the contract with Frost has already been negotiated.

I hope Neb gets Frost because I don't think he is going to work out there. His offense just isn't going to be a good fit for the Big Ten conference. If Neb was smart they would hire a proven winner in this conference in Brett Bielema. After his humbling at Arkansas he would come cheaper and he would be hungry for a fresh start and to prove himself again. He also plays a brand of football that would work at Nebraska, heavy run game behind roadgraders on the O-Line and tough nosed defense. Both elements that win in the BIG and are achievable at Nebraska with the personnel they can bring in.
