OT: Betting Question

Have a question on a futures bet on the tourney.

Current odds to win the tourney at William Hill are:

Kansas +800
Duke +800
The Field +900
Gonzaga +900
Baylor +1000

And then about 50 others listed. My question is what constitutes the field? Is it anyone other than Duke or Kansas? Or something else? Don’t usually play futures but that might be too good to pass up if that’s what it is.

Well that was my take too but they have odds all the way out to Northwestern at 7500-1. It’s more like 100 teams they have listed.

Figured a field bet would be way higher than 9-1 because that would be the Evansvilles and NJIT’s of the world.

The Field is anyone that isnt listed. William Hill has 99 teams listed, so that would be a terrible bet.

But if you look at the women's future bet on the app, the field is much higher payout and a lot less teams listed. Hell, iowa isn't even listed in the women's one.

That’s why I was confused. It seems like horrible odds for the risk.
