OT: Drake's Darian DeVries named MVC Coach of the Year

And he earned it. Took over a team with two returning players, lost a key starter early in January, and still put together a team in a matter of months that tied Loyola for the league title. (UNI lost to Loyola twice, each by ONE point, BTW. Win one of those and Drake wins the title outright. UNI had a tough year.) Drake was picked to finish 9th in the Valley. Now THAT's coaching.

Drake lost their play-making guard to injury a few days ago, but I'll be rooting for them to win their conference tourney and make the NCAA. Gotta love a coach and a team like the Bulldogs, especially since they're a fellow Iowa institution. And another reason Iowa and Drake should play at least once every year.
