Big Grove Brewery in Solon is releasing Iowa's first Triple IPA called Buster - LLS Edition on Tuesday, March 17. If any of you know Bill, he's a pretty amazing brewer. I got to taste Buster and it's unbelievable! Stop in on Tuesday and treat yourself. Trust me on this.

Triple IPAs actually fall under the DIPA/IIPA category. It is pretty much up to the brewery to decide to call it a TIPA, but they generally have 11+ ABV and are hopped pretty much like a DIPA. So far, there has been no TIPA category guidelines established.

The human palate really cannot distinguish IBUs over 95, so many places tout theoretical IBUs when talking about heavily hopped beers. I've brewed one at 200+ and would not be able to tell it was more hoppy than any regular 100 IBU beer.
