As far as I can tell, footballscoop is a cesspool of wild rumors and manufactured news based on very little info. Its probably two guys and their buddy from rehab on a sandwich budget in the backroom of a pool hall in Orlando.

This is just nonsense. Herm seems like a great guy, but he has a 54-74 record in the NFL. He was a defensive asst at San Jose State U in 1989, with no other college experience! He has no qualifying credentials!

splash as in belly flop? As others have pointed out, this guy has become a clown on TV, had a losing record as a coach and hasn't had to deal with recruiting for how long? Yeah, I'm guessing this doesn't work out too well, he will get eaten up in the PAC12 or any other major conference for that matter.

Not this time. On this morning's Sportcenter Herm was doing his morning piece and they asked him directly. He said he and the AD at ASU are close, and have the same thoughts on running a program. He went on to say that he has thoroughly enjoyed coaching the young kids in the Under Armour all star game the last several years, and he is still a coach at heart. He is definetly in discussion with ASU for the HC job.
