OT: Iowa HS Football Playoffs

How cold does it get for these high school games in Iowa this time of the year ?

Usually in the 40s or 50s. Temp isn't as big a deal as the wind. If it's in the 40s and calm it's not bad. When the winds pick up is when you start feeling it.

People wonder why living in Ankeny as a Hawk fan makes u hate the Clones. Watch the Centennial game on the DM Rag site. The commentators who I know are from Ankeny and Clown fans. Twice as it was approaching halftime and each team was throwing the commentators said "safe to say Kirk Ferentz isn't coaching either team or they would be sitting on the ball and not trying to score before half." Seriously? And they wonder why we say they obsess about Iowa. They said it twice once for each team.

Yeah, They are good. They have 2 players on that team who look like college level players right now. I will be rooting for them the rest of the way. Good team.

Lots of close games in every class. Good to see, but I’ll be interested to see how the state reshuffles after the next round.

A couple of shockers in all classes and i was shocked to see AC go down. SE Polk must of played a really tough schedule!

Looks like Bettendorf beat Iowa City West 43-28. 4A semifinals look like Dowling vs Bettendorf, and SE Polk vs Cedar Falls.

This year they had a few good teams on their schedule. But none of those teams are/were gonna compete for a title.

West Hancock won't. Newman probably won't either. Haven't seen their playoff road yet.

Ankeny centennial is going to start there dominance I don’t know if they win this year, but you can see the talent in the junior high kids.. there are few former nfl players kids that are in junior high there and they look pretty good... irk if Fred jackson boy will be as good as Fred but if he is Centennial will be dominate

Say what?? Im not sure any centennial junior high team beat their southside rival this year. Can’t say what they did against others but they didn’t beat the hawks this year

Ya, they lost to Valley and Centennial earlier in da year. They are rolling now and look like da real deal. Wisconsin style running game (OLine, RB Murray) and very good defense. Don't see anyone stopping them now.
