Just noted on another site Malou, the tranfer recuit to Iowa State who turned down the scholarsip for the draft was not drafted.

Nor did I see much about him even mentioned.

Glad to see Peter Jok and others return to college.

A lot of these kids seem to get very bad advice from people not really interested in their welfare.

Malou had a lot of eligibility questions. Comes from a very impoverished refugee family and really got some bad advice from con men when he got to the states.

Wanted to come to Iowa State but needed to make some money and wish the best for the kid in the future.

Really not sure why kids that go undrafted cannot go back to school. Just make it 5 years to play four period regardless if you enter the draft or not. If an NBA team drafts a player they have rights for that player for the year.

You can probably put a share of the blame on the NCAA in Malou's case. Coach Prohm realized that the chances of him being cleared to play at Iowa State were slim to none and advised him as such. The best that he can hope for at this point is to play in Europe, I imagine, and try to work his way into the NBA from that venue.

His story is actually pretty sad and I hope he succeeds in Europe or wherever. He's gotten a lot of bad advice from bad people over the years.

He's one kid I'm super-rooting for. He never expected to get drafted but I hope he can make a good living while eventually achieving the NBA goal. Kid has been hosed for years.

The kids seems to be a little gullible. He believed a shady 'mentor' in high school, believed a con man that started ABCD prep in Des Moines, and believed this agent who sold him on going pro instead of going to Iowa State. At some point you have to learn who to trust. Sounds like he had eligibility concerns but that ISU felt pretty confident he would be cleared by NCAA.

Also let ISU convince him to stop playing basketball midway through his juco season and move back to Des Moines. Good move LOL.

Why was that a bad move? Apparently you didn't know his living situation over there

How was it better in Des Moines? Did ISU pay for his housing there? Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

I believe he was living with a family he got close with while previously in Des Moines. I know the two reasons he came to Des Moines was to get a better living situation and so they could try to get him eligible for this upcoming season

It was better for him actually. He needed to get enough credits to graduate JUCO on time to play at ISU and he also was in a better living situation. Not sure what your problem is.

Haha nothing about that sounds shady at all.
