In 2017. Final conference to switch over. But they are doing it in the way I think most conferences should do it. They are only taking the top 4 teams and doing a two day weekend tournament. Good way to avoid having a 10-20 team representing the conference.

I agree, StormHawk. There's no logical reason why teams that finish in the bottom half of the Big Ten should play in the conference tourney. None whatsoever. In the current 14-team league, take the top 8 and play it out. Everybody else stays home.

I don't know the exact format for baseball, but it's something like only the top half of the league gets into the tournament.

Even from a financial standpoint, I can't see how a 14-team tournament makes sense. So good for the Ivy boys and common sense.

Except the Ivy League is only 8 teams......

Yale, btw, ended their 54-yr tourney drought this past season. Split the season series with Princeton, but the Bulldogs finished with a 13-1 conference record while the Tigers finished at 12-2. Both are 22-6 overall.

Because part of the intrigue of college basketball is any team can win it, and make the NCAA tournament. Gives every team a purpose, and makes this a great week.
