Wow. I was watching a game yesterday and they were talking about how James was poised to pass him on the all-time list. I actually joked to a friend that Kobe might come out of retirement just to get the record back. I'm shocked.

I live in CA now. It feels as if a dark, dense cloud has settled over the state. I was trying to explain to a friend today how we felt when the news of Chris Street’s passing plunged Iowa into a deep state of depression, and how this will have a lasting effect on anyone who watched him play.
My heart goes out to Vanessa, his wife. I can’t imagine how that poor kid is dealing with this.
RIP Kobe. Prayers to his family and friends.
