I hardly ever watch the NFL but decided to watch tonight because there's not much else going on! People actually like this crap!?!?! Terrible terrible football that is predictable and flat out boring.. makes me love college football even more!

I'm with you! Haven't watched a full NFL game for probably 15 years. Super Bowls included.

The NFL is ok, but I do find it kind of boring. I think it has the same problem the NBA has. The players are too good.

This limits what teams can do on offense and defense because "tricks" and "gimmicks" get sniffed out or the players are just athletic enough to cover before it can work. That's why you never see a fake punt of field goal in the NFL and you can count on one hand the number of onside kicks you will see. Plays that take a long time to develop, like reverses and such get eaten up because defenses are too fast.

Sure, they are the best of the best but it just isn't as interesting.

I joined a fantasy football league about 15 years ago and it has totally changed my approach to NFL football.

Good point. Watched a 40+ year old baseball league game this weekend and (to me) it was much more entertaining than a MLB game. Just more action, more hits, and unexpected plays.

True.... really the only reason I watch NFL.

I'm needing Diggs to have a slow night for my team to win this week!

Any sport that needs a gimmick to get 35% of their viewers is questionable entertainment to me.
Fantasy football has likely added tens of millions of new viewers and unique followers over the last decade. It has created an unqualified boom to revenues, a very lucrative "gimmick" to say the least.

BTW, I still follow my KC Chiefs .... on a split screen as I track my FF players.

The defenses are to damn good! There aren't nearly enough good QB's to take them on consistently

You were saying?

I love the NFL.

Piece of advice for you. Wait until the second half starts before tuning in. Second halfs are always better. Just like right now.

Also. Learn how to pick a $5 5 team parlay and teasers......... adds a whole other level of interest.

Again, I love the NFL. It is good, clean football. Did you watch the Green Bay versus cowboy game yesterday???? Good stuff.

See? I'm not even cheering for the Bears but this stuff is fun to watch!

I'm a Vikings fan but I'll even give the Bears props for that 2-pt conversion play. Never seen anything like that, and hell that's almost a perfect play call for that situation.

They ran what looked like a mini double reverse with an option back to the QB. The OLB had no idea who to pick up on that play.

But in the end........Skol Vikings.

Yes, most people watch the NFL. Why would people, or sports fans specifically, not watch the NFL? It's awesome and features the best football players in the world. I like college much more for a variety of reasons, but the NFL is still great. And one of the teams tonight was starting a banged-up QB and the other was starting a rookie QB for the first time, did you expect a really crisp, clean game?

I knew there was a reason I didn't like you.

The NFL just doesn't move the needle. I can't explain it, I just find it sterile and boring. I follow how the scores are going to see who's in the playoff race. Then, once we're in the playoffs, it's interesting. That's what playoffs do to a regular season.

I don't have a super strong opinion on this, but I think it's safe to say that the Bears and Vikings aren't exactly a good representation of the NFL as a whole.

Exactly. It's like when KU and Baylor or Rutgers and Illinois kick off. If that was all you watched you'd say college football sucked too.

On come on. The Bears are terrible like those teams but the Vikings are pretty good. Not anywhere near the level of a bottom-feeder like the teams you mentioned considering they're 3-2 with no QB stability and losing their really good RB for the season.
