so front page of ESPN (which I rarely visit anymore because of the bias and terrible writers) says Texas upset by Oklahona State.

Am I wrong but wasn't Oklahoma State the favorite? And Texas went from 40th to 10th when they beat a average Notre Dame team who lost like 7 players due to them being idiots. And Syracuse played with them this week mist of the game.

I Renember after the annoying commenting of THE 18 wheeler! But they carried Charlie strong off the field like they just won the national championship made me laugh. Thats how far Texas football has fallen. Now a few weeks later Texas is saying basically their not firing Charlie strong during the season, but probably 70 percent chance he's fired especially if he loses to Oklahoma.

I just remember those fans and commenters saying TEXAS IS BACK FOLKS! I was thinking are you serious? 5-7 last year and one win to a overrated team that took OT because the polls came out before they kicked off a bunch of starters.

I just kind it funny because I hope they stay down and Charlie isn't the right coach for Texas they want criminals and Charlie won't recruit bad kids.

Also the great Mack brown whos the worst qb eval of all time chose THE 18 wheeler over JT Barrett who grew up a Texas fan. He passed on many other NFL QBs too to recruit scrub qbs.

But ESPN that wasn't an upset that's why i don't visit your page it's now politics and awful writing ESPN is gonna soon be like Fox News soon

This happens because the Texas Longhorns have one of the biggest brands and fanbases in college football. It benefits the media and television networks to promote and talk about them because they bring in the most money.

It's just how preseason polls screw everything up. LSU, ND all suck this year, but were top 10 to start, so wins over them bumped those teams up high in the polls. Even though it turns out those early wins over them didn't mean much after all, the victors don't get the corresponding check until after they lose to someone else.

Polls don't mean anything for the first few weeks, and there's little rationality behind them. (except for recruiting, tv, hype, etc.) A couple more weeks and a real pecking order will emerge.

Charlie is safe for atleast 3 years there AD i bet gets fired if anyone after the win 5-6 games this year.

Also I noticed if you beat Oregon who is bad worse than Iowa right now you get ranked. They will be in foster farms bowl with 5 wins. Colorado 4-1 who hasn't played a team got ranked like Nebraska for barely beating them.

I would love to play Oregon!! I hope we play them in next 6-7 years.

Anyways when did you move from ottumwa? I just moved back to Fairfield after living in ic/Cr for 13 years when i graduated from college. I'm not a meditator either....just half the town is. Ottumwa in tx wasnt his extension through 2022? Or when was it?

I am a hawk fan and I dislike texas, however I personally liked mack brown and thought they were trying too hard when they hired Charlie
