James is 28 and his time in the NFL is about done. Only so long can one be on a practice squad for your career, even if it is with the Patriots. Wonder is he tries to get an NFL internship like his brother did? With Brian trying to eventually replace his father and Polasek will want to rise to an OC, James might want to start building a coaching resume. Just a though.

Maybe he just wants to go another direction or seperate from his brother. Who knows? Go hawks!

I would imagine he does go into coaching. And from talking with Brian I would predict he would be good at.

I would stay on the practice squad. They make a minimum of $7200 a week for the regular season and post season. Not bad money. It goes up to 7600 in 2018 and 8000 in 2019. This is minimum but they can pay them anything over that if they want.

Probably just a matter of time at Ferentz and Sons Inc, aka Iowa football.....we are Nepotism U afterall
If we hired Sally Myers as our 10th coach, would that satisfy you? Go root for the Clones, you'll be happier with their coach. He's the best young up and comer in College football, and better yet, not related to anyone.

I know Steve works with O-line I would guess he’s a student assistant since I there is a limit of 4 GAs.

Don’t here complaining that Phil Parker’s son and Norm Parker’s Grandson are on the staff.

The Iowa staff is listed here, including GAs. James is not on it.

This December 20th article claims Cole Croston, James Ferentz and Riley McCarron are all on the Patriots practice squad.

James is still in the league. We were talking about the youngest, Steve who graduated last year. He's been on the sideline in coaches type gear this season, just not sure what his current role is.

He isn't listed as GA or in a front office role.

I wonder if he is doing some type of internship.

I've noticed former walkon center Josh Koeppel, most famous for being hit by a truck, on the sideline, and he isn't listed either.

I remember seeing a guy that looked like Josh on the sideline, but I'm nearly 100% certain he is not an assistant of any kind.

Ah, the old "go root for the clones if you have anything critical to say about my precious Hawkeyes" routine. Original. You suck.

He may have just been a sideline visitor a few times. He grew up locally, may live here now.

I know Tyler Parker I is Phil’s Kid and Tyler Anderson the GA is norms grand kid.
Ah, OK. The way you said that originally it looked like you thought that Parker was Phil's son and Norm's grandson. There have been numerous posters who thought they were related when they were both coaching, which of course they were not. Their only tie before Iowa, was that Norm coached at MSU, and Phil played there. Did not know that Anderson is Norm's grandson. Thanks.
