Ethan Smith over David McFadden 5-4
So much for that Hodge Pyles was ready to give him.Sasso got stuck. VT went into the break 12-7.
How’d Conel do?VT ended up beating OSU, 21-15. Conel lost today as well.
I think Kyle Conel lost as well. Some big time upsets today.
Apparently not well haha. How’d Conel do?
Guess the pros at Flo etc got that #3 ranking wrong. Guy has one good tournament and boom. Wonder if it would have been so high if he had stayed at Kent St. So will they rank him right now or keep him at the top? How’d Conel do?
Just giving ya some guff.. yea Nomad said switches are coming back haha. He just looks very disinterested while he’s wrestling. Could be cardio, rust, genuine disinterest, idk..Apparently not well haha.
Didn't see the match, but saw a clip and he got switched in the 3rd to give up the lead. That's a basic move you don't see often anymore. But damn it was smooth.
Conel also injured his leg in the 3rd period, which contributed to the loss. Dunno how serious it is, but not clear if Conel's body can withstand another injury and still be able to compete at a high level.Just giving ya some guff.. yea Nomad said switches are coming back haha. That’s too bad. I didn’t finish the match yet, got distracted with lunch and the VT/fOSU dual.. As long as he’s below Warner at the end of the year I hope he can find what he was looking for.Conel also injured his leg in the 3rd period, which contributed to the loss. Yea I finished that match and certainly didn’t look good..Conell's career is probably over, think you'll see Beard out there next week.
His opponent was giving up 50-60 pounds. Gremmel ran him off the mat and the official hit Gremmel for stalling. Gremmel turned and called stalling on the ref. Unsportsman #1. About 30 seconds later, Gremmel gets the takedown and the only thing in is Gremmel's shoe lace. He literally looks back to see what is inbound and proceeds to drive his opponent off the mat, then an additional 5 to 6 feet onto the hardwood. Unsportsman #2. Dresser claimed at the presser that he had no idea 2 resulted in a DQ. Come on man. You are a D1 coach. Even I knew that rule.Saw the ISU results...Gremmel being Gremmel.
Don't know if he was purposely trying to get flagrant or not. Considering that Cass likely sticks his punk ass, wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I only said that cause the post I replied to typed it twice. No off color intended.Knee Injury
Seriously, I'm surprised he's still on the roster. The stuff that happened on the UNI campus after his high school career was over should have been enough to yank his scholly. His opponent was giving up 50-60 pounds. Just a note, that you wouldn't get from that article: Penn State actually finished second behind Army West Point at the Black Knight Invitational...
