After he fell on his ass. It was a travel before that and should have been called.

You hate to “have” to call that travel, but you have to call that travel.

I thought today’s officiating was way better than yesterday and it wasn’t even close. The jump balls were a mystery. Joe T getting clobbered on one play where he was a bit out of control should have been called.

Keegan getting hammered on the baseball pass was something that should have been called.

They didn’t call a lot of fouls (or sold as fouls) near the rim that usually goes against Iowa. That was surprising. They called the travel on PU when he got up after being on one knee. Thought for sure that was going uncalled.

With that crew today, I thought that was about as fair of shake as Iowa could get.

It totally worked out for Iowa in the end but what if a Purdue player recovered that ball and scored. Agree with all your points. That foul on Keegan after the baseball pass was another swallowed whistle late in the game.

I don't like the way the game was called, but I thought the refs were pretty fair given the way they decided to call the game. In other words, I can't complain too much about what Iowa did and didn't get. Watching Courtney Green take the floor at the start of the game gave me a pretty bad feeling, but he was consistent. The officiating today was much more consistent than what we saw with Scirotto yesterday.

Show us the one where Ivy slides 3 feet, falls on his ass and doesn't get called for traveling.
To be fair, there were bad calls both ways. Iowa had a play where they jump stopped, jumped up, and came back down. Most obvious travel ever. Some fouls uncalled both ways.

This doesn't change the fact Purdue is 1-16 ats and 3-14 W/L when Courtney Greene refs them the last 3 years.

Good win today. I think Iowa is bound for a run.

Here’s what I noticed several times. Player from each team has both hands on the ball. Foul on Iowa.
There giant center grabs rebound comes down on top of Iowa player. Foul on Iowa.
End of game baseball pass to Murray dunks it and Purdue player rakes him across both arms. No foul.
Thats just a few. Oh - and Iowa still beats Purdue.

I think the play you’re talking about was allowed because they thought Murray had the ball knocked loose by the other team. If that is what happened then it isn’t a travel. Not sure if it really happened like that,

I can’t believe the number of times our guys got clobbered with no call. JBo got knocked in the head on a shot, nothing. Keegan had a guy jump into him and then shoved on the drive immediately after that, no call. Keegan fouled for a surefire and-one on the baseball pass, no call. And there’s many others.

Greene is the worst ref in the league AIAEC. It's a crime that he reffed the championship game.

And Joe T. gets crossbody blocked on his way to the basket and no foul.

I read a lot of message boards in and out of the B1G. Every one of those boards have a thread on officiating complaining how bad it was especially after a loss. Basketball officiating is the most difficult of any sport and it’s not even close.

Keegan hit the bicep area of the Purdue player as he was going up and towards the basket that caused it to be determined as "loose" and that's why there was no travel called.

But the worst non-call of the night was on the dunk late with the baseball pass. Unbelievable.

Exactly. When I saw this crew I thought this won’t go well. They let both teams play. I feel like we have a team with the Murray’s /Perkins that are so in control and smooth we can handle the crap refs the B1G refs throw out there. And the grudge against Fran is possibly gone ?

I want to say (without jinxing it 🤞 ) that Fran and Bo have buried any bad blood between them.

I think Bo has a quick trigger sometimes and we all know Fran does, so they mix too well.

At one point they called seven straight fouls on us to zero on them. The 7'4 guy is so graceful.
Bull in a China shop and they call all the fouls on the China. Lol.
That's a fact, horrible.
I knew the minute I saw the crew we were screwed .
Courtney Green is an embarrassment to officiating in general , Bo and Fran go way back , and Paul Szelc is a Hawk hater.( Szelc is an ignorant scoundrel and I disapprove of his very existence)

Call all the fouls on the China is an all time quote

Courtney Green looking at the Purdue player absolutely mauling Keegan on that breakaway dunk to seal the game and swallowing his whistle. Keegan not only got hit on the arm but on the head. Could have been injured. God, I wish the Big Ten would ban that SOB from the league.

They missed at least 5 jump balls that would have went in our favor. They also seemed to never give us any iffy calls on offense, yet their 7 foot 4 center was given a whistle anytime he was touched.

actually, that's not what happen....the defender did what is called "capping" the ball where the shooter cannot release the ball and KM then landed on the floor...this is was called a jumpball and we had the AP so it was our ball underneath. IF there had been any kind of disruption/bobble that would have created a new possession which meant KM could have done anything he wanted once he landed on the floor

I’m surprised Kenyon even allowed Keegan to play this long for Iowa’s “shit show coaching staff”. Amirite? Fun times 🤮

Would you really allow your sons to play with Iowa's shit show coaching staff? Be thankful the 2 boys stayed as long as they did. Next year will be a trip watching this program without them. Fun times 🥱

We're talking about two different plays then. The play I'm talking about didn't have a jump ball called.

If you are talking about the play where KM jumped from under the hoop...had the ball capped, then returned to the floor? Bo B signaled a jump ball from his Trail position....none of the other cams picked it up...Alt poss arrow went to Iowa...the announcers didn't pick it up either ...what play are you referring to?

Didn't matter, he lost the ball in the process.
But he had the ball when his foot slid. Not calling the travel like they should have, allowed for the possibility that another Purdue player could come up with the loose ball. It doesn’t matter that we got it anyway, the proper call should have been made.

But it was Jaden Ivey. Do you really think that the refs (especially THAT crew) were going to call a travel on him?

🤣

Only if you’re going by the rule book definition and not the philosophy like our high school official (ret) around here.
