I have been thinking throughout the season about the leadership that Hesse has shown in his 4 years starting at Iowa. I also noticed how well he is able to speak in front of others. I think he has the smarts, leadership qualities and communication abilities to be a head coach some day. KF talks about the quiet leadership Hesse brings with his lead by example type play. I don't know what his NFL future looks like, but if it does not amount to much I hope he can get on with an NFL team and learn the way BF did. One day he may make a good HC and who knows he might be back at Iowa.

Might be a future AD somewhere too. He mentioned sports administration in the long piece Morehouse did before the season. Hesse graduated from Iowa in 3 years and will receive his Master's Degree this December.

Maybe he should shoot higher for administrative positions like AD. Could be a conference comissioner or something as well. Already has his Masters nearly wrapped up and looks like a bright future outside of football for him.

Parker has success written all over him. I hope he is able to reach great heights and would love to see him in a significant role at the University of Iowa. It would really be something to see him be the President though.

He also might be a great linebacker somewhere in the NFL... kids got heart, is a disruptive player and for his size he has some wheels .. and awesome first steps that are super quick as he sheds off his blockers... I do think he will get picked up and converted to a big LB

You folks are humorous. When he was a sophomore, you bashed him. He was white, too small, too slow, etc. Last year you all had him heading to the bench with Epenesa walking right in and taking his spot to start the year and complained all year that he was playing too much and Eppy should be playing more. And anyone that defended him or question some folks 'wisdom' of course were attacked. Now he should be President. Good grief.

Your brush is a little broad, Captain.

I promise you that Hesse has never been bashed for being white. And most recognized what a player he is and either had him sliding inside to play DT or splitting reps with AJ

I'm sure that is the way you choose to remember it, but that is not the way I remember it. I don't have the desire to go back and start digging up past threads and posts, so unless further evidence to the contrary is introduced, I'll stand by my statement.

In regards to the title of the thread, I would agree that Hesse would probably make a good coach based on what I've seen and heard of his ability to communicate.

So I can make up any statement I want and the burden of proof is on other people to prove me wrong. Got it

I USUALLY cite my sources and indicate when I’m not sure of something. Wrong again
Lighten up Francis. You do know why a smiley face is used?
You act like I called you out about something. Are you guilty or implicating yourself? If you have never made any of those comments why are you responding to my post?
You know damn well that a ton of people said the things I referred to. The 'white' thing is that many of them often insinuate that every white kid from Iowa is slower and less athletic than a person of color who is their counterpart. Are you denying that as well?
I have no idea what you have said in the past, I didn't call you out. You're calling me out over a general statement that is based in reality. Who or what are protecting? You're denying that numerous people made these type of statements?

You are making a claim without citing any sources and are not expressing that you may not be certain of your claim. That doesn't coincide with a previous statement you made.
I have no idea why want to go to war over a statement that according to you, doesn't pertain to you. Does the term 'you folks' offend you in some way?

Hesse did get the whipping boy treatment from Hawkeye fans for a stretch. I can't say it was a majority but many posters questioned why he was starting at times last season and earlier this year. He is not the first whipping boy, other recent examples include Riley McCarron and Bo Bower. Greg Mabin was relentlessly heckled here for most of his career at Iowa. Its a long standing message board tradition.

I didn't say anything about a majority. Just was making a general statement about the hypocrisy on this board at times.
You are correct about the whipping boy analogy. Some traditions should just die. :)
