Wow, where to begin? Surely you know many of the standard reasons people advocate for organic food but, shoot, an obvious one is less chemicals.

Yeah, just because something is a chemical doesn't make it bad.
And surely you know that just because something is organic doesn't make it better or healthier for you to consume, lol.

Sure, it's guideline. Big deal, Americans ignore guidelines meant to keep us healthy all the time. Look at the current pandemic....

But what are all these chemicals being used in animal production and why are they bad for you?
How would we raise animals to be more "natural"?

It was appropriate when he said it prior to secession. And it’s becoming more prescient every year as we lurch toward the end of empire.
I was mainly thinking of what we use as feed for animal production.
Free-range chickens, grass-fed cows ... those practices.

You might think that rational beings would abandon eating meat.
Lab-grown meat could eliminate most of those concerns. Until then, at least cut back, if you can't bring yourself to stop altogether.

I hope a Biden administration will do a much better job of this - although I am not aware of any reason to think it will be.
We need to stop relying upon studies funded by the sugar industry on how much sugar we can feed our kids, the dairy industry on how much pus is OK in milk, Monsanto on how much glyphosate is safe in foods, the oil industry on how safe fracking is to our water supply, the poultry industry on how safe it is to feed ground up chicken to cows and vice versa, and so on.

I have a brother, a smoker, who swears he is “going out on time”. We have watched relatives linger with Alzheimers and he does not want that path. He would rather the sure death from smokes...

Go visit some organic producers and see how much grows in a small place. It is not industrial production... that is not the goal.
