The past 2 weeks I've seen multiple people worried about IND and even MN!!

Now all the sudden some of them are now talking about the CFP? You go from worrying about those two mediocre(at best) teams to talking about Iowa in the playoffs? LOL

Maybe it's just me but I get a good laugh out it :D

Im confident about Maryland, but I still cant get the letdown of Purdue last year after the OSU game out of my head.

Free comedy.
Some guy said Sargent should be the starter since he is the best blocker. It took some self-restraint not to reply with "then let's make him a WR". Every multi-page thread has an idiot who types "who cares" demonstrating a narcissistic lack of self-awareness. Not hard to figure out how BHO could fool so many fools into a voting for a fool.

I really like the way this team is evolving. There is no game on our schedule that we can’t lose including Illinois . But there is no game on our schedule that we can’t win either. We should be favored in all games except PSU

Always been that way with the Iowa fan base. It's either all good or all bad.

The Iowa team and coaching staff can go from totally incompetent and inept, where everyone needs to be fired or taken off scholarship, to the most underappreciated, disrespected team in the nation worthy of CFP consideration in a span of two weeks.

Been that way for years. Thankfully, we have Nebraska fans to overshadow all of that.

And guess who the fool of this thread is?

SEC fashionista checklist:
Polo - check
Khaki shorts - check
Some kind of golf related clothes - check
Pom poms - check (?!)

Pom poms - wtf is it with male SEC fans and their penchant for shaking pom poms? Once in a while when they're handed out a game... ok, fine, but it's like every damn game you see those things. And is that dude in the middle wearing a Pete Rose style wig? Because it definitely looks like a Pete Rose style wig. Or maybe it's some sort of hat/wig combo?

So many questions.

As for everything else, Iowa fans don't have a monopoly on bipolar emotional reactions to wins/losses in CFB. That's what makes it fun.

Stop being a fun hater and lay off the xanax maybe.

I think it comes down to most of the reasonable, objective fans can spot a team that's for real. You always have your kool aid drinkers of course, but most of the regulars can tell the difference between a team getting lucky vs a solid squad getting better each week. Confidence is growing that they could actually run the table and get to CG in the B1G. Especially in light of recent results that show the supposed Goliaths of the conference suddenly look vulnerable

It's simply two groups of different posters. When Iowa is losing, the debbie downers are out in force and the sunshine pumpers are keeping their heads down. When Iowa is winning, the sunshine pumpers are all over the place and the negative nancies are in hiding.

I've never really thought about it, but I think this is the correct answer.

I think it’s Iowans in general, in a nutshell.

Want desperately to be taken seriously, prove we belong. When success or attention comes, then disappears...makes us look stupid, because we fell for it so hard.

Then we clamor to get it back, lash out about what we had, what others just like us have (WI for example) And when positive attention comes again...we wait for it to disappear like an insecure boyfriend of a hot chick.

Most college football experts and NFL people rave about Iowa and Ferentz. Only people who don’t are us fans.

I live in Nor Cal and go to a lot of HS football games and always wear Iowa gear. Shocking the number of times I hear Go Iowa or Go Hawks.

Its the Hawkeye heroin. Gets you high then leaves you dry and begging for just one more hit of the pit. The 2015 season was so cool that it keeps you coming back for at least five more seasons with a hopes of greatness to come.

The fantastical CFP discussions are just for fun. We all know the chance of running the table is slim, but it's fun to think about. The fact that the team may be good enough to win each game is why such threads exist. I'm happy to sport my Hawkeye hard-on until a loss wipes us out. And if that doesn't happen.... WHOA NELLIE!

The OSU game was a singular event, where everything went right, starting with a pick six to open the game, and establish early momentum. This season has seen a steady improvement by the offense under the leadership of BF, and Stanley. They appear to be hitting their stride, and gaining confidence weekly to use all the weapons at their disposale. Had it not been for a couple of special teams miscues, this is a 6-0 top 5-10 team right now. This is not last years team........

NFL yes, less so on college experts. But I am in the camp that all this talent should equal more wins. Coaching holds us back at times. Especially on offense. Now times may be a changing so hold on.

I just hope they keep loosing

Agree, the ceiling is high for this team. While I don’t see a LIKELY path to the playoff, why not entertain the notion? It is POSSIBLE and that makes this whole thing fun (you know, the whole reason to follow sports -> fun).
