Pep Band

Probably not at the top of most people's lists, but there's been no pep band for the last two meets. Wonder why.

I much prefer the live pep band to all the recorded music. Gets me more fired up.

But I'm kinda old and traditional.

Agree completely. Especially miss the Hawkeye Victory Polka.

Agree with that, too. I say do it for all meets except IC Duals. I'm old, and I thought it was a nice addition. My 6-year old nephew thought it was awesome.

Because they take up seats that can be sold to paying customers? (Yes, I've seen this happen at some places.)

How about "The Hustle"? Now, that's old-school Fieldhouse pep band stuff right there. Used to love that tune coming out of the pep band back in the day.

Not true because UI students got in free to the Penn State meet. Not sure about Ohio State. But that would be the messed up UI marketing dept at its finest. Surprised we didn't have a white out for either of those duals so they could be like the red pom poms at a Wisconsin FB game or "having go red for women" day when playing Indiana.

UI students get in free to wrestling and just need to show their ID. I think they needed to pick up an actual ticket for the PSU dual a few years ago.
