BROCKTON -- Brockton native Peter Marciano Jr., nephew of boxing legend Rocky Marciano, was found dead on Monday in his Brockton home.
Marciano was a Brockton City Councilor, a school committee member, a baseball umpire, an investigator for the Mass State Lottery, and both a Brockton High School (Class of '85) and University of Iowa football star. As a Hawkeye, Marciano was a wide receiver and still holds the school’s career punt return record with 124. He held the Big Ten Conference punt return record until Steve Breaston finally broke it with 127 in 2006.
Marciano leaves behind a wife and two children. His cause of death has not yet been released but his death is not being considered suspicious.
