So, he is done, right? Injured and benched. Arm strength on the decline before the injuries.

He's an old man as far as footballers are concerned. Sooner or later the body just starts to fall apart. It will happen to all of us, sooner or later.
The guy has had a great football career...I just hope he's smart enough to realize it. The danger with athlete's all too often is what makes them great is also the source of their destruction. Please Peyton...have the smarts to just walk away. It's time.

Never seen a guy hit the wall as hard as Peyton did. Through the first 12 games last year he had 36 td's vs 9 int's. He had FOUR games with four or more td passes. Through his last 14 games, he's 13 td's and 23 int's and has one game with 3 td passes.

Agree.

I think him having the partially torn thing in his foot doesn't help his arm strength either. Bad ribs too.

Can't throw for distance if you can't plant your feet. It would be interesting to know when the injury occurred. It was almost like a switch was turned off.

The funny thing was a couple of local dj's were talking about Manning earlier in the week and one of them said, "He'll be benched this week but the Broncos will announce that he has some phantom injury so Peyton can save face." This morning he was going to call ESPN and ask for a job.

Agreed, his decline in play was not at all gradual. One day he's one of the best QB's in the league and putting up great numbers. . . The next he's got nothing left.

Somehow I have to think they will start him one more game down the road so he can get the win record. But he's done and I hope he knows enough to retire. Because honestly if he doesn't retire there is a good chance Denver releases him.

He's been awful. Thankfully I found a sucker to trade me a middle of the road WR for him last week in my fantasy league.

The ego of a super-star athlete is huge. This pride and
confidence is what makes them great. However, when
the world class athlete nears the age of 40, their natural
physical talent is past its prime. Some are done at 35,
but most are absolutely done at 40. The smart ones
know when to retire, the less fortunate ones hang on too
long.

If you look at the latter part of last season, this probably wouldn't be as much of a shock to you. People were trying to dump him in every dynasty league that I was in, and nobody would take him. We all knew...

His injury happened after the Green Bay game. Obviously something happened to him that has thrown off his passing plus his offensive line hasn't given him enough time to pass the ball.

Still love Peyton for the player and leader that he is. The guy has set the bar high for integrity.

The dude is saying Papa John's pizza is "better pizza" on TV.

That doesn't scream "integrity" to me....

Nearly cost me a win in FF last week. At least he seems to have cashed in on his fame and made a few commercials before it ended.

One game. Not the same thing. Peyton was tearing up the league for the first part of last year then - boom - he's been pretty terrible since.

He played pretty well against the Packers this year from what I remember. But yes, last week's game was awful.
