Don't forget Parker too. 2weeks to prepare and our coordinators come up with that crap
Don't leave out our Oline coach. Polacek in over his head. NOBODY KNOWS WHO TO BLOCK.
It was actually embarrassing how inept and pathetic our coaching was in the second half. Offensive play calling was horrid. How many stretch runs to the short side of the field that go for little to no gain do we need to see before we quit called no it? I just don't get it. Offensive play calling was offensive play n the second half.
That’s not Polacek’s fault. Kirk is the one who hired him and assigned him to coach a position he has NEVER COACHED BEFORE.
And to think there were a bunch of posters that applauded Brian being named as OC and wanted him to take over when Kirk retired.
This is the first game that I’ve been disappointed by Brian’s decisions at OC. In a game where we were facing one of the league’s worst secondary our primary MO was to try and run Wadley. It was quite evident that our WR were an even matchup and that we had an advatantage with our TE vs. their LB.
Throw the ball 5-15 yards down the field. Mix it up. Make them rush the QB, he makes pretty good decisions and pretty good throws. Get him into a rhythm. And then keep taking the deep shot. It’s there. It’s been there against every single defense we’ve played.
Play action them until they don’t believe we’re going to run, and then screen and draw Wadley until they’re not sure what’s coming.
This was back to an old predictable style of offense. One which I’m sure the opposition was calling out exactly what play was coming.
Come on Brian — you gave this one away making Northwestern look like Ohio State.
With KF, BF, and Reese Morgan all former o line coaches there should be pretty good help for him to turn to
I certainly wasn’t one of them. I didn’t want someone learning on the job. We needed a proven OC that could recruit. Now we have neither.
The adjustment is to switch Brian to Oline coach and move Polasek to OC since that is what he was at NDSU when he called the game to beat Iowa. Adjust KF or die a dinosaur's death.
