Anyone else notice the look at Fleming's face in the picture for the PSU game summary? Either he doesn't particularly like Pete hugging him, he had indigestion, or he just wasn't feeling very happy. Usually he is one of the most upbeat bench players, so it seemed a little unusual.

Kid can stroke it but hard to see him passing up Ellingson anytime soon as they are similar players. We shall see though because obviously we have had a small sample size of Fleming. Remember, this is his first true year in the system.

Fleming has half a foot on Ellingson

In reality BE is probably 6'2 and Flem is probably 6'4. Flem is too small for the 3 and too slow for the 2; going to have to be a dead eye shooter to see court time.

No way he plays over Hutton next year either

How about this picture? Let's break down this one next.

He's a freshman, and he clearly has a lot to learn, but has almost never been in the actual flow of a game. He'll be much better when he has a role, and understands it. He appears to have the most difficult transition from high school to college of the freshmen though.

Hmmmm .... I see he has a towel around his neck. Is that his way of telling his teammates and coaches that he is unhappy with his role at Iowa and he's ready to move on? And, why does he have his left foot in the air? Very odd. Oh well, he was never going to amount to anything at Iowa. (HEAVY SARCASM):rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'm much more interested in the Iowa player on the right who has the ability to levitate. Get him in the game ASAP!

Based on the two minutes of playing time I've been able to derive the following analysis of Flemings game: He hasn't played enough to determine anything concrete about this kid other than he's not good enough in practice to get playing time in games. Trying to deduce anything from garbage minutes is difficult.

He took a really hard fall on the last possession.

He took a really hard fall on the last possession.

I was wondering what happened. He took that fall then Iowa played 4 on 5 on the other end and when they brought the ball back down he was walking around and Fran was staring at him. I was waiting to see if he was pissed or just checking on him. I noticed Fleming kind of looking up at the ref with his hand up and didn't know if he was asking for a call or saying he was hurt

But to the OP, watch every game and generally Fleming is going nuts on the bench, first one to celebrate. I don't think a snapshot tells the story

Yeah I was wondering if he was hurt or just complaining to the official vs not getting back on D. Kind of a weird deal as seconds were ticking down by the time Iowa got the ball back but I was thinking either he has to be hurt or he better hope he is bc if not Fran needs to lay into him for not getting back at all.

Was at the game last night. He lost a shoe on the last possession and was trying to get it back on. Was not in a rush at all, but it wasn't really a big deal with 20 seconds left.

The most telling item from last night's game, in regards to Andrew, is that Fran did not put him in at the same time as Williams. Williams is obviously ahead of Flemming in the rotation, but with a 25 point lead and less than 5 minutes on the clock it seems like they would enter the game in tandem.

In short, I was pretty surprised that Flemming had to wait another 2 minutes of game time to check in after Williams.

A coach cannot send a much clearer message than that to a player.

I finally saw the picture referred to by the OP. This thread is really dumb.
Missed the game, so I was curious. Also, thought the picture was a little funny.

Thread certainly isn't any dumber than all of the posts calling for Fran to bench Mike or change the rotation, now that we have a winning team.

I was at the game last night and Fleming looks like a kid who is currently having some confidence issues. When he was jacking around with the shoe I was hoping that he would at some point just toss it and hustle down court., would have shown the coaches a little bit of intensity in the waning seconds. He really did take his time and then was looking for the long pass for the easy cherry picking bucket after PSU missed.

I haven't even looked at the picture in question but Fleming's enthusiasm from the bench has stood out to me all season. I even noticed him giving Ellingson a pat on the back recently as he came off the court and who represents his biggest competitor for playing time. I can see he and Ellingson nicely holding down the shooting guard position eventually if Moss moves into Jok's role at small forward and Hutton plays the role of defensive stopper for the two wing spots. Andrew needs to continue to work hard and develop his role but good things should come if he maintains a positive attitude which I don't question at this point.

I get where you are going but don't think they play the same position or will ever play the same position. Fran wants Williams at the 1 with a possibility of some spot 2 minutes.

What? So far Williams has been inserted as PG and Fleming has not, but what makes you think they won't compete for playing time in the future. When they were signed Fran commented that both could play the 1-3, and we've seen him move some of his versatile players around (i.e. Marble). If Connor is our best PG (2017-18) or Bohannon, Williams may end up playing a lot of 2G or SF, which could directly affect Fleming's playing time, or vice versa.

For some reason Fleming hasn't flashed much yet, but he did show some nice potential in HS/AAU.

I like Flemings upside, seems like a good team mate, and he is one good looking dude (no homo) which would make him an excellent wingman.
