Pitts RB Conner is out for the season

I feel bad for the young man. I hope he bounces back and has a great future career. It looks like his backup had a really nice performance Saturday so the Hawks may still have their hands full.

I never get the people who are happy with things like this (see also those that wanted Coprich suspended).

I want to play the teams at their best, and beat them.

Just further proves some fans just want to win, nothing else matters, they'd play 11 on 2 and be bragging.

True but still a step down from the returning ACC offensive player of the year. One of the keys last year in 2nd half is iowas D limited Connor and Pitts offense sputtered.

You just made that up.

Also, if Coprich was arrested for dealing pot at Iowa, he would not have played. Michigan State and obviously Illinois State? Yep.

Totally agree. Guy Was selling drugs huge difference and was suspended a week or 2 in late May, which we all know so much important stuff happens then...

On flip side give narduzzi credit. Unlike his former coach comes into Pitt and sits their top Wr and future pro Boyd for OWI for the first game.

Wait, so Iowa fans wanted Coprich suspended because we are big believers in the rule of law?

Not that he ran for 2200 yards last year?

....riiiighhhhttt

Some of their posters are saying the other guys who played Saturday are better than Connor. That he had no vision and tip toes....these guys must be REALLY GOOD

So you'd be fine if an Iowa player sold drugs to an undercover cop and didn't miss a game? Not for a failed drug test or having a joint but for selling drugs (and spare me the weed should be legal argument). If it would have been their punter or guard I'd be saying the same thing it's a joke he isn't missing a game.

Indiana kicks best defensive player off the team for selling drugs. Pitt suspends best wr for driving drunk. KF suspended spearman 2 games for driving drunk last year. It's called holding someone responsible for their actions. Though I'm sure he learned his lesson being suspended from all team activities in late May for a week....

Well if you were an elite college RB and sold drugs to an undercover cop I'm sure you would still expect to play football that upcoming season.....

The guy who stepped in for Connor was REALLY successful. My guess is that Pitt won't be hurting in the running game. The bigger issue there will simply be that a younger guy might limit their playbook and not be quite as solid when it comes to picking up pass-rushers.

It seems like Pitt has a good OL ... so that will be the primary challenge. Also, their QB is mobile and pretty good. On top of that, Boyd will be back ... and he's capable of torching us.

I'm not sure what you guys think your point is. Those wanting him suspended/disappointed he was going to play were doing so because they wanted to win, and thought it'd be easier without him.

Bullshit they do it because of rule of law.

That doesn't have any bearing on whether he should have been punished.

My point is and was if you commit a crime and initially charged as a felony wether you are the star or back up you would hope your coach sit the kid or kick him off. As stated Indiana kicked off best defender for exact same crime. Pitt suspended a player better than Coprich for driving drink. Heck even urban Meyer suspended maybe the best defensive player in the nation in Joey bosa for breaking just a team rule. What Spack did is the exception not the rule. You see coaches suspending kids for doing far lesser crimes than Coprich.

As for doing it because of the rule of law yes they do. Why would a coach not punish a player for breaking the law. In this case a felony. You criticize fans who wanted him suspended so Iowa could win. Is that worse then the head coach not punishing said player so his team has a better chance to win? Because that's what Spack did.

That sucks for Connor and for Pitt, but its obviously a huge break for us. Hopefully he still gets drafted highly or comes back for his senior year and plays well.
Wow. This is a shock but, that's football. (hahaha?) As much as it "helps" us I would of loved to see our defense against a big high caliber back like Conner. He chewed us up a bit last year.. It would've been a great test for the mouth of our defense. He runs hard and has promise at the next level. I hate injuries like these. Just sad.

I don't recall anyone being happy about Conner getting hurt. I do recall some douche nozzles saying they would love it if Ross P got hurt playing for Bama.

I don't see how Conner have a season ending injury would equate in any sense to people wanting Coprich out for the game for dealing drugs. I mean those 2 aren't even in the same zip code brother.

Sure they are. People want/are relieved when the best players from upcoming teams won't play. Same for Coprich, same for Conner, and if by chance Lazard goes down the same will be said for him.

Same reason people at Kinnick talked excitedly when Roberson went out...even though he had done nothing all game.

I doubt many Pitt fans feel that's the case but we do have three very capable backs. Chris James, the guy who also got hurt on Saturday was a 4 star guy out of High School and was pretty decent last year but was overshadowed by Connor. Q Ollison, the guy who ripped off 200+ seems to be very good . To this untrained eye he seemed very explosive with some power to boot. Hall is another 4 star freshman who got some snaps last week and looked decent. On top of that we just moved a kid named Potet back to RB as insurance. He was highly rated coming out of HS but ended up bouncing around a few programs before finishing up his career at Pitt. He originally committed to Pitt but the Wanny/Haywood/Graham fiasco had him look elsewhere.

Anyway good luck against ISU. Looking forward to a good game on the 19th. I had a blast out there the last time we visited Iowa City (except the last 10 minutes or so of that game). Wish I could make the trip again but time won't allow for it.

I don't recall anyone being happy about this. Let's not act like we're Nebraska fans here Iowa.

Not only do I wish Connor was still healthy, but I wish MEGATRON was still eligible.
