Ohio police say a 69-year-old man used a pair of scissors to cut off his own penis on Valentine’s Day before also cutting open his own abdomen.
According to Toledo’s CBS affiliate WTOL, Hamilton police arrived on the scene to discover the man had dismembered himself inside his home and police had to disarm him after entering his home early Sunday afternoon. He was treated by emergency personnel and transferred to a local hospital.
There were no updates available on the man’s condition.
Strangely, it appears such incidents aren’t that uncommon for Ohio men.
In 2013, a homeless man in Lorain cut off his penis along a set of railroad tracks and told police he first tried to use a rusty saw, but when that didn’t work, switched to a broken beer bottle.
When questioned on why he did it, the man said that “Busch (beer) made me do it.”
Also in 2013, a 41-year-old man from Columbus was high on “magic” mushrooms when he ripped off part of his manhood in Michigan.
“He mutilated his genitals with his bare hands,” Washtenaw County Sgt. Geoff Fox told AnnArbor.com. “He was doing a lot of yelling and screaming.”
