Amazon delivered my sweet new leather key fob cover today. The colors and the contrasting stitching makes it look almost like it was designed for my CX-5 Carbon Turbo. Matches with the interior nicely. No trouble engaging the buttons through the cover. Very happy with this.

Silicone for my Nissan. It's green so I can find it easier.

Nothing for my Jeep because it doesn't have a key fob. It doesn't have electric door locks. I'm not even sure why it has any door locks because the soft top can be removed without even opening the doors.

Never had a key fob cover until we bought a Lexus 18 months ago. They are surprisingly nice to have. I prefer the feel of it vs it being slick. As Trad mentioned, lowers the risk of damage when dropping. No covers on our older Suburban hey fobs. Both are now cracked.

The leather covers for the Lexus eventually wore down and we replaced with silicone. I’d purchase again for future vehicles.

Things I have added to my CX-5:

Rear bumber guard - that area will scratch
Center console cover
Gear shift cover - that area will scratch bad too
Cargo mat
3D MaxSpider floor mats
Curt trailer hitch

I like to keep my cars in good shape for resale. I have cloth seats in my 13 Ridgeline that probably look brand new because I put Wet Okole covers on when I bought it.

I also have a silicone key Fob cover

It’s a key fob. Who cares about some scratches?

When I purchase used vehicles, small things like the condition of key fobs seem to be a good indicator of how well the vehicle has been taken care of overall. If you’re purchasing a car from someone with immaculate fobs and orderly, detailed records, it’s probably safe to say they take meticulous care of their cars.

I guess

The last used car I bought I was in my 20s and was just happy it ran.

I have one too. My new vehicle is one where you don't use a key, but you have to have the fob with you. Since I have a basement garage I leave the fob in the car, but when I would go somewhere I'd get out the door and remember that I left the fob inside car. I decided to get a fob holder with a clip so I could hook it to my belt loop or purse so I wouldn't accidently leave it in the car. It looks like this:
