After watching the disappointing Minnesota game, I started thinking. Many posters in the game thread were over-reacting, as usual. We lost a close game in OT to an 8-1 team with a legit NBA player (Carr).
That being said, I wondered if any of the regular season games really mattered. Sure, a BIG title is impressive. An undefeated season would be remarkable. Having a top 5 team is fun.
More regular season wins = better seed. We all get that, but we've seen an 11 seed make a deep run in the NCAA too.
But, in the most extreme example, let's say a team goes winless during the regular season. They win the conference tourney, get an automatic bid, and run the table in the NCAA to win it all. Likely? No. But possible.
I get disappointed at the losses as well, just not as ridiculously as some on here. So, do we need to get so worked up about regular season losses like the Minnesota game? Does the regular season even matter?
