Here's the deal. You can have an amendment protecting gun ownership or one protecting fetuses or neither, but not both. Which do you choose to protect? Or would you leave specific mention of guns and fetuses out of the constitution?
Note that not having an amendment doesn't mean they aren't protected by regular laws but that those laws can be changed without running afoul of specific constitutional language. So, for example, not having guns protected by a specific amendment opens the door to banning guns, but the advocates would still have to convince a majority (or more) to go along.
