Since it cannot be 4, the only answer left is 3. Unless the Hawks are up 30 points and Fran takes a timeout to substitute out his seniors to get the crowd acknowledgement they deserve, Iowa will not use all their TO tonight

Really sad that the coach has no clue how to manage the tactical side of the game. He has his center flat out gassed on the floor and 3 timeouts in his pocket and he refuses to use one to get a substitution for him.
I get your point but it's not wise to use timeouts for subs. Better to use dead ball stops.

Normally I would agree, but at that point the teams had been up and down the floor for over 3 minutes and 30 seconds and Woodbury was relegated to basically covering the center circle of the court. The game was in the last 5 minutes of an extremely tight game and Fran had 3 timeouts left, so waiting for the dead ball basically relegated Iowa to a 5 on 4 because Woody was gassed and was not contributing offensively or defensively. In my estimation, the coach needs to be aware of all of the circumstances,(exhausted player, # of timeouts remaining, and that the game could hinge on 1 or 2 possessions). I am assuming that Fran was aware of all of that and because of that I question his late game management.

Iowa has lost the last 4 out of 5 games and how many of those games did Fran head to the locker room with timeouts available?

He's talking about the Wisconsin game. Fran had 3 timeouts with less then 4 minutes left in the game. He preceded to finish the game with 3 timeouts left. That situation he was talking about was inexcusable for Fran not to call a timeout. Fran not calling timeouts in crunch time is one of the reasons he has such a bad record in close games.

Hey man, I all about using timeouts. I agree with you guys on that. Just saying I wouldn't burn them only to make subs. But hell yeah, use em if you got em.

Just trying to clarify as he didn't do a good job of explaining the actual situation he was referring to.

Sorry about the clarity on the first post, I was assuming everyone posting in this thread watched the Bucky game and understood that the "Center" for Iowa was Woodbury and the instance I referred to happened in the last 5 minutes of the game.
