Not according to General Dempsey who reportedly said "it's not our fight, it's the Iraqis' fight."

Between comments like that and the general aversion to commit boots on the ground, we seem to be disowning Iraq. And yet we are sending more trainers and flying air strikes. Mixed message?

What do you think?

I don't know the answer. But before 2003, I don't think anyone like ISIS would dare try to take over land in Iraq with Saddam running the show. We went in there and weakened that country. So the question is, if it's our fault they're in this mess, do we have a responsibility to help get them out of it?

We destroyed the country in the Iraq war, then we armed the rebels in Syria and Libya which eventually became ISIS. Now ISIS is running roughshod through IRAQ. Who are we supporting, who are we fighting, what the hell is going on. No wonder the rest of the world hates us.

We should continue to bomb ISIS and help the Iraqi government with arms and such. But I don't want American soldiers fighting on the ground. Sending people to train them is fine by me, but the fighting on the ground should be handled by Iraq.

Western busy bodies have done enough damage. We know it was all based on lies. We know there are no WMD's. So, why are we still there? The doctor mis-diagnosed. You don't continue with the same medicine that is killing the patient. These wars are destroying our economy.

Define the "our" in Our Fight.

It's not MY fight, so I'm not in the "our", regardless.

Being a man of integrity I say we need to provide support until it is fixed as we certainly did break what they had and it has since become a worse place. However we can only do this if we are welcomed to do so, if we are told to leave by the Iraq leadership then we need to leave.

IMO you stay until the job is done or until you are no longer welcome.

Even better would be a time machine that could take us back so we never "break it" in the first place. We broke it, we now have a responsibility to the good people of Iraq to help put it back together. I say this as a person who hates being world cop and firmly believe we spend entirely too much on our military might when those resources are needed elsewhere.

You'd think that this far into the Obama regime, the world would be loving us again.
