This is obviously not an exhaustive list but I'm curious how HROT views some combinations that I think are somewhat more likely than many others. If there's enough interest, I may start polls with other combinations or have some sort of playoff. So be sure to vote if you'd like that.

Should I vote for the ticket I would most want to see run the country or the ticket I would most want Rs to pick so that they don't ultimately run the country?

I hope people will vote for the ticket(s) they would like most (or hate least) and not for tactical reasons. But it's HROT so it's up to you.

OK, well Kasich is the R I think I could deal with the best, so I went with the two non-Bush options with him in the lead.

Or stated another way the ticket I want to see or Clinton. The choice is clear.

Even though I think you give Kasich too much credit, I understand those choices.

Are you going with non-Bush tickets becasue you think he's out, becasue he's a Bush, or for specific reasons? If specific reasons, what don't you like about him?

I think Bush comes with the neocon Bush entourage. That team has a clear track record of getting us into trouble. Rubio and Fiorina if nothing else don't have that team with them. With Bush, a James Baker or Dick Cheney like figure is in the ear of Kasich. With the other two, its an unknown.

Bush (and Clinton for that matter) scream "Old Guard Establishment."

I really hope we get something different and not the same-old, same-old.

Marco Rubio will be on the Republican ticket. It is going
to take some time to discover whether it will be as the
Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate.

That probably makes sense. I'm not sure any GOP candidate can escape the neocon influence, though. Even Obama shows that influence.

Those are the options that nightmares are made of. I guess Kasich-Rubio would be the best a guy could hope for. The rest of those (in addition to any combo including Carson or Trump) make me sick to my stomach.

Well, at least Cruz isn't on the list. He's the guy who I worry about most (among those who seem to have much chance).

If we get enough votes here, I'm inclined to do a follow-up with the leaders from this against the best of the rest.

good grief, Fiorina really disappeared off the face of the earth , is she like dead somewhere? for a while, all you heard was her name 24-7

I put Carley as my second choice ... and in the VP slot.

I am reasoning that after she is elected as VP, she will ascribe to the Bush attitudes toward trade and taxes.

I actually like her, but her anti-trade stances are extremely puzzling ... coming from a person who claims to have traveled the world as much as Hillary Clinton.

Although Rubio is doing well, I'd say his candidacy is still pretty fragile. He can't afford a stumble. But if he doesn't stumble, he will become increasingly hard to deny a spot on the ticket.

Bush is his #1 concern, since they are both from Florida. No matter how well Rubio does, if Bush makes a Kerry-like comeback, Rubio may be sidelined.

Fox almost single-handedly vaulted her into the "serious candidate" tier. And she did well in her first prime time debate. But I agree, it does seem like she's faded from view.

I don't watch Fox any more. Have they stopped pushing her?

What anti-trade stances are you referring to?

I don't have cable and don't watch fox, I'm just going by am radio and interwebs, so I assume tv is much the same

I like the Rubio - Kasich combo. Rubio is the fresh-faced kid and Kasich is the adult in the background keeping him steady.

Sort of like the Obama - Biden dynamic. Sort of.

Anything on that list is better than the socialist democratic side. Hillary and Bernie would do great in Cuba or Venezuela.
