Apparently the GOP wants to use tax dollars to put up a bust honoring Dick Cheney. It's traditional, but it's also Cheney.

Good idea? Good use of tax dollars?

Cheney’s bust will stand alongside statutes of figures the official Capitol Visitor’s Guide refers to as “human rights leaders.” That includes figures like Sojurner Truth, a former slave who became a tireless advocate for ending slavery and supporting women’s rights.

Interestingly, the George W. Bush presidential library has no Cheney bust but has statutes of the former president’s dogs.

Is there a statue in the Capital Rotunda of Daniel Quayle?

What about Spiro Agnew? or Al Gore? or Nelson Rockefeller?

Cheney should be afforded the same basic honors that every other former vice president gets. No more, no less.

Sorry. War criminals who disgraced this nation deserve ZERO honors.

Not sure how Cheney is a War Criminal since he was only VPOTUS and had no authority but ok.

Every president is war criminal including Obama. His civilian body count is like 100 times higher then his terrorist body count. Not that those terrorists ever got trials or anything, seems to me they are basically terrorists because Obama or someone in the defense department or CIA said they where terrorists.

Can a vice president be added to Rushmore?

You know, it's interesting, when I watched "The World According to Dick Cheney"; he has no regret, no shame, nothing. Everything he did, he feels completely in-the-right for having done it. He is an incredible person to observe. I have no idea just how insidious he is/was, but I see an abundance of it. But, what amazes me is how, in spite of all of the criticism and general distrust (like is being displayed here), he displays no sense of remorse or cares at all how he is remembered. Everyone should watch that documentary. Even the film makers commented on just how impervious he was to criticism or second-guessing himself. His ego is just off-the-charts. I feel sad for him in a way. I know he is loved by his family, but he shows such disdain for others. If you're a Muslim, and you're not one of the "good Muslims" that do deals with him and his cohorts, you're on his perpetual sh*t-list!

We wasted how many tax dollars naming buildings after Reagan, so why not.

Former President George H.W. Bush has announced that
he will donate the necessary funds for a statue of Dick
Cheney. The only stipulation is that Cheney must be
embalmed inside the statue by January 1, 2016.i
