I interviewed out of college with an accounting firm that had offices in multiple locations. Interviewed with the IC office - told them I could make a decision at anytime and wasn't too fussy about location.
No offer, no rejection.
My uncle was a small client of the CR location. At the end of January he mentioned my situation to the partner he worked with. Turns out the IC location put my resume on the bottom because they didn't think I could accept an offer till the end of Feb. And, by then they were full.
CR called and invited me to interview. They offered and I accepted. Spent the next 36 years there.
My uncle made a phone call and it changed the path of my life forever.
No offer, no rejection.

Politically correct humor lacks all crucial elements of comedy.
I had to stop and think if I have an uncle still living. I have one. He inherited some money I think so I will have to go with a car.
